If you are a fan of live music in Houston, … you know there are waaay more choices of bands & venues to discover than grains of sand in your hourglass! Just try to hit up all of your favorites during any local music festival. It’s damn near UNpossible! If there’s one fresh offering to ingest, it’s definitely The Freakouts. By somehow taking & mashing punk, glam, garage, psychobilly, & art rock together into one jam-sammich, this sneering quintet is gracefully capable of serving up a heaping helping of pipping hotness on stage. The Freakouts consist of Ash on vocals, Porter on lead guitar, Meg on bass, Allen on skins, & newly added rhythm guitarist, Steven. If you haven’t witnessed them yet, then get your sweet cheeks on down to their next show. Become a believer for yourself! If you’re in the Houston area catch them next at Rudyards (2010 Waugh Dr) on February 17th, 2012 with Modfag & The Sons Of Hercules.
We caught The Freakouts lighting up the stage at Fitzgerald’s on Thanksgiving eve of last year & instantly dug their tunes…
… NBSD’s Nick the Vegan got all freaky with The Freakouts after their set & snagged an interview. Arrange your ears to their upright perky positions & give it a listen on this NBSD minisode!
